Dr Usha Kini
Dr Usha Kini is Professor and former Head, Department of Pathology, at the St. Johns Medical College, Bangalore. She is a recipient of the Sir C V Raman Young Scientist Award in the field of Medical Sciences, Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of Karnataka, for the year 2005-06; Dr R. M. Khasliwal Award by NAMS for the year 2009 for her work on Hirschsprung Disease; and the Linnaeus Palme Award from Umea University, Sweden 2011. She is a recipient of numerous awards, and has delivered orations at various for a including the Dr M R Parthasarthy and Dr AV Ramaprasad Silver Plaque Oration in 2015, and the Tamil Nadu-Puducherry Chapter oration at the 64th Annual Conference of Indian Association of Pathologists and Microbiologists, Cochin, 6th December 2015. She is the Founder of the only Diagnostic and Research Centre for the diagnosis of Hirschsprung disease in India, initiated in 1998 at the St Johns Medical College, Bangalore. She has several publications to her credit in national and international journals.
